Alex Galchenyuk Signs Two-Year Deal with SKA Saint Petersburg
Free-agent forward joins KHL team after NHL career

Former NHL free-agent forward Alex Galchenyuk has signed a two-year deal with SKA Saint Petersburg, the KHL team announced on social media Friday. Galchenyuk, a 29-year-old American-Belarusian, last played in the NHL for the Arizona Coyotes during the 2021-22 season.
Galchenyuk was selected third overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and played parts of nine seasons in the NHL, also suiting up for the Carolina Hurricanes, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Ottawa Senators. He was a member of the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2022-23 season but did not play a game for the team.
In 596 career NHL games, Galchenyuk recorded 135 goals and 181 assists for 316 points. He also represented the United States at the international level, competing in the 2014 IIHF World Championship and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
