The Arizona Coyotes have signed center Alex Galchenyuk to a one-year contract extension with a cap hit of $775,000 for the 2023-24 season. Galchenyuk, a 28-year-old native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has spent the past two seasons with the Coyotes after being acquired from the Ottawa Senators in 2021.
Galchenyuk has recorded 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 53 games for the Coyotes this season. The 10-year NHL veteran has amassed 166 goals and 205 assists for 371 points in 611 career games with the Coyotes, Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota Wild, and Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Coyotes currently sit seventh in the Central Division with a 25-33-12 record and 62 points. They are nine points behind the Colorado Avalanche for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with 22 games remaining in the regular season.
