Indiana Pacers vs Boston Celtics NBA Game Recap: Celtics Secure Game 1 Victory

A Thrilling Overtime Battle

Boston Celtics 133, Indiana Pacers 128

In a nail-biting Eastern Conference Finals opener on Tuesday, the Boston Celtics narrowly defeated the Indiana Pacers 133-128 in overtime. The game was a back-and-forth affair, with neither team able to establish a significant lead throughout regulation. However, it was Jaylen Brown's clutch 3-pointer with just over a minute remaining that forced overtime and ultimately swung the momentum in the Celtics' favor.

Pacers Start Strong, Celtics Respond

The Pacers started the game with a strong effort, leading by as many as 9 points in the first quarter. However, the Celtics rallied behind the shooting of Jayson Tatum and hit three consecutive 3-pointers to take the lead in the second quarter. The two teams continued to exchange blows throughout the third and fourth quarters, with neither side able to break away.

Brown and Tatum Lead Celtics in Overtime

In overtime, it was Brown and Tatum who carried the Celtics. Brown hit a jumper to start the extra period, and Tatum followed with a 3-pointer to give Boston a 5-point lead. The Pacers fought back, but Brown's clutch 3-pointer with 61 seconds remaining ultimately sealed the victory for the Celtics. Tatum finished with a team-high 31 points, while Brown scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Pacers Fail to Close in Regulation

The Pacers had several chances to win the game in regulation, but they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. They missed several free throws down the stretch and also turned the ball over at critical moments. The Celtics, on the other hand, made the most of their possessions and hit key shots when it mattered most.
