National Weather Service Issues Warning for Several Louisiana Parishes

Residents Urged to Take Precautions, Monitor Weather Forecasts

As of 4:30 PM CST, multiple parishes in Louisiana are under a Flash Flood Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). The warning affects the following parishes:

• East Baton Rouge
• West Baton Rouge
• Iberville
• Ascension
• St. James

The NWS warns that heavy rainfall is expected to continue throughout the evening and into the early hours of tomorrow morning. Residents in the affected areas are urged to take precautions and monitor weather forecasts closely.

Flash floods can occur quickly and without warning, even in areas that have not experienced recent rainfall. If you encounter flooded roadways, do not attempt to drive through them. Turn around and find an alternate route.
